28th IFFK: Anurag Kashyap elated over the warm response to ‘Kennedy’

Director Anurag Kashyap’s movie Kennedy was screened at the 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) on Tuesday, 12 December.
The Bollywood director was elated with the warm response it received from the audience at the IFFK.
A long line of delegates was seen at the Aries Plex Cinemas in Trivandrum where Kennedy was screened. Anurag Kashyap was also present at the screening.
On the occasion, Anurag Kashyap described the IFFK as one of the best film festivals in South Asia. “This is my third time at the Film Festival of Kerala. I think it’s not only the best film festival in the country but in South Asia.
The filmmaker attended the IFFK last year too. Sharing his experience, he recalled: “Last year was an overwhelming experience. I came here for a master class. The responses that I received for my work were overwhelming. The people here were so passionate. I met a filmmaker named Felini and his brother Godard. They grew up in a village.”
About Keralites, Anurag Kashyap noted that the Malayali audience is quite passionate about cinema. “People in Kerala are so passionate about cinema which is why Malayalam cinema is probably one of the best at the moment.”
About his experience at the IFFK, the director said, “I feel so proud that my movie (Kennedy) was screened here. I saw the response for the first show online. I am glad that the film is reaching my favourite audience in the country.”
‘Kennedy’ was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2023’s where it got a 7-minute standing ovation’s and the Sydney Film Festival 2023.
The movie casts Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in the lead roles.
